I’m restarting the blog! I’ll be updating monthly with what the dogs and I have been up to, but I’m starting with a reintroduction!
Claire: I have been busy revamping my website and Obedience Academy! I work with my new and existing students from my base in Huddersfield, as well as travelling around the UK delivering specialist courses. I’m about to launch an online membership academy for obedience coaching to allow people further away to have better access.
I was recently in Hereford for three days, assessing a L3 Lost Dog Tracking course, which was fantastic! I actually love travelling and training further afield, and I love seeing how people and their dogs have progressed between visits.
Mavis: Mavishound is my amazing rescue Lurcher and primary Lost Dog Tracking dog. She is now 10 years and enjoys being a princess! She still works tracking lost dogs, and also does scent detection. She enjoys competing in scent detection trials too, and has been placed 4th in our last two trials, meaning she got her first ever rosettes! Mavis has some arthritis now, which is mild but she has daily medicine and monthly physio to make sure she’s in top form.
Blitz: Blitz is a Belgian Malinois, who has achieved her IGP3 and represented GB at the FCI World Championships in 2023 and 2024. She is now 9, and isn’t ready to retire! I no longer work her at IGP protection, but she is actively training and working on her tracking and is aiming for her FH3 title, which the highest level of tracking qualification in IGP.
Frenzy: Frenzy is my Belgian Malinois teenager, she is big, bold, loud, and brilliant! She is strong minded and funny and quite naughty, she is my upcoming sport prospect for IGP, and is doing great with her training. She loves tracking, obedience, and protection, and shows good potential in all three phases so far.
