Want to get your dog into tip-top shape for the summer?
We are very pleased to be working alongside Zoe of Fit-Pet Physio (https://www.fitpetphysio.com/) to deliver our brand-new Canine Conditioning course. Zoe (MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy, BSc Bioveterinary Science, Hydrotherapist MNAVP and RCH), has worked with animals for over 10 years before qualifying as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in 2019. She has a wealth of experience treating dog sport clients, and has trained and competed in agility with her own dog for many years.
Over four weeks, we will cover the basics of improving your dog’s physical health: what conditioning means, how to approach it, what exercises to start with and how to progress, what to look for, and how to practically teach your dog the correct exercises to start boosting their physical wellbeing. We’ll also discuss what you do and don’t need in terms of equipment and space (you might be surprised!)
Appropriate for anyone seeking to improve their dog’s general strength and physical fitness, this course will be particularly useful for those competing in high-intensity dog sports (obedience, agility, flyball, IGP) or taking part in endurance activities (extended tracking/search and rescue, canicross, or long distance hiking).
This four-week course will run weekly at 6:30 – 7:00pm, beginning Thurs 7th March 2024, at our indoor training venue in Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.
- All breeds welcome!
- Dogs must be 6 months old to attend
- This is a low-action class, focusing on strength and conditioning exercises, rather than cardiovascular exercise
If your dog has been diagnosed with (or you suspect your dog has) a pre-existing condition or injury, you should speak to your vet immediately. This course is not appropriate for rehabilitation following an injury or surgery, or as part treatment and/or therapy for a pre-existing condition. If your dog is diagnosed with a health issue or sustains an injury prior to the start date, please let us know ASAP.
